ADMISSIONS 2026-27
The Governor of Punjab has appointed Punjabi University, Patiala to conduct the Common Entrance Test (C.E.T.) and centralized counseling for admission to B.Ed. course (academic session 2026-27) in the Colleges of Education (Govt., Govt. Aided, Private Self-Financed Colleges) affiliated to the Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Panjab University, Chandigarh and Punjabi University, Patiala vide Punjab Government Notification No. HED-EDU10M.L/19/2022-3edu/E 316266/I/1408489/2026 dated 05-06-2026.
The admission to B.Ed. programme in the Colleges of Education shall be made strictly on the basis of the relative merit of the candidates in the Common Entrance Test, subject to the availability of seats in a particular subject combination and as per reservation policy of Government of Punjab.
The Prospectus is subject to modifications/additions/deletions as may be considered necessary by the University.
Admission will be based on the merit of Common Entrance Test and subject combination. Allotment of seats will be done merit wise through online counselling (i.e. online seat allotment system).
ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION
a) i) Applicant must have obtained at least 50% marks in the Bachelor’s Degree including a graduation degree in Engineering and Technology (45% in case of SC, ST, BC candidates)
OR
ii) at least 50% marks in the Master’s degree in any stream (45% in case of SC/ST, BC candidates) (Note: Where ever grades are awarded, the same would be converted into percentage as per rules of the University/Institution awarding the grades)
b) Additional Eligibility Conditions
i) Candidates should have passed Graduation/Post-Graduation in relevant subjects as admission in B.Ed. programme is subject-based. The candidate must have studied such subjects at graduation/post-graduation level based on which he/she would be offered two teaching/pedagogical subjects at the time of admission.
ii) A candidate getting admission based on a post-graduate degree shall have to opt for one of the teaching subjects pursued by him/her at the Master’s level.
Further, applicants who have appeared/appearing for the qualifying examination and whose results have not been declared, may provisionally apply and appear in Common Entrance Test (CET). They shall become eligible for counselling for seat allotment only after they produce evidence of having satisfied the eligibility conditions as in a) and b) above. Applicants who fall in the category of result late (RL)/Re-evaluation/Compartment cases shall be considered if their results are declared before final counselling subject to availability of seats.
Note: The minimum qualifying marks shall not automatically entitle a candidate to get admission to an institution. The candidate concerned is required to fulfill other institutional criteria notified by the institution concerned or by the Punjab Government/ University concerned from time to time. Online admission will be offered to only those candidates who will qualify for the Common Entrance Test and fulfill all the other conditions along with eligibility for specific subject combinations.
The admission will be purely provisional till the verification of all the documents of candidates by the allotted college. |
